This nation agreed a long time ago that you have to learn English before becoming a citizen....
According to Senator James M. Inhofe Republican of Oklahoma, Zogby International Poll 85% of America thinks English should be the language spoken for all government operations.In 2001 the US. Supreme court ruled that Martha Sandoval, A Mexican immigrant that lived in the US. for almost a decade without knowing how to speak English, she couldn't sue Alabama because they didn't offer people who didn't speak English drivers license tests! (Both the courts and America's citizens and immigrants have sent a clear message: We must unite our country behind our proud national language, help new immigrants advance by learning it, and save taxpayer dollars by making English our national language).
My Opinion I don't think thats right for them not to let immigrants take there driver license test, just because they didn't want to learn another language. In a way that can go both ways! I do think English should be our official language for America because thats what most people grew up talking English.
